If you possessed the power to delve deep beyond the eyes of another, to surpass the veil that beholds the mind's modesty, would you walk or run amongst the thoughts and the memories?
If the voices inside echoed within gaps between passers-by, would you look back and watch how they’d react - or walk on ignorantly blissful? Would you discard your present to the past, in search for a new, uncharted future? For the curious kind and thrill-seekers alike, the thirst for more is an endless hunger - a glass that more often than not, remains half-empty. As the latter of the autumn air sheers upon blades of dewed grass and sullen skin, models Reuben and Aidan absconded from the restraints of their reality, on a road-trip to disrupt the day's arithmetic.
Photographer Jade Danielle Smith shifts the gear from neutral, up to first and accelerates off the grid, taking the boys to pulped planes where their minds can run avidly. Free from fear and clear of obstruction, their thoughts and curiosities meander amid the grooves and ambiguity of the bigger picture. They said the world is just a small town, but they too often forget about the outskirts - and the outsiders.
Stylist Andréa Käding utilises the dualities of patterned and plain, light and dark to illustrate the collision of two worlds and two minds; living as outsiders, inside the chaos. For Reuben and Aidan, their old realities: now redundant - things will never be the same. So, when times become trepid and the sheering air halts, like pages, they’ll skip towns; breathing life from one reality, into the next.
