Simon Blom Talks Modelling and Clowns

Remember the stunning young man from Copenhagen that we recently shared a beautiful black and white image series "Shades of Teen" of? We caught up with Simon Blom (Scoop), where he told us more about Copenhagen, what he does in his spare time and clowns in wheelchairs.

Hi Simon, how did you end up modelling and how are you finding it so far?
My dad’s girlfriend who is a photographer took some pictures of me. She is modelling a little herself, and told me that I had potential to become a model. So we sent the pictures to Scoop models, and so it started. It has been very cool so far and I really like my agency. The best thing about modelling is that it has been very exciting and fun, and I enjoy doing both catwalks and photoshoots.

Tell us what else you do when you're not modelling.
I am going to a school in Copenhagen, which takes a lot of my time. When I have some time off I am together with my friends and family. Sometimes I enjoy a mountain bike ride with my dad.

You live in Copenhagen, what is cool about living there?
Copenhagen is a special city. There are so many different cultures and people. It’s a city where you can meet people you never thought you would meet. I think the city’s priority is the young people because it offers a lot of events like sport, culture, music and all kind of arrangements. It’s very cool.

How would you describe Danish people in general?
I think Danish people are very creative. We kind of have permission to do a lot of things so nothing is stopping our creativity.

Tell us three random facts about yourself.
I am kind of scared of clowns in wheelchairs.
I have a sister.
I am a social person.

What are you passionate about?
My passion is modelling right now. But I have a dream about becoming an actor or a manager.

If you could have a super power for a day, what would you have and how would you use it?
I would like to have the power to fly. I would use it to see the world from another perspective.

What is playing on your ipod at the moment?
I am listening to every ting at the moment Pop, rock, R&B, Hip Hop and Electronic music. My musical taste is very broad. I think, however, that at the moment Timberlake and Timberland are the top two on my iPod.

What are the funnest parts of growing up?
The funniest parts of growing up are that I get more responsibility to decide for myself and prioritize my time and money.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I like to go to Brazil. I have never been there before and I would really like to see how the culture and the people are. I have heard that Brazilian parties are crazy, so that’s an experience I also want to have. One of the most important things is to see the rainforest and all the beautiful nature.

We're quite into goats cheese these days, what's your favorite food?
My favourite food is beef with potatoes and gravy. Home cooked.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
In 5 years I will be studying economics or acting and modelling in my spare time.
