An Interview With Mikhael Ayoub

1 May 2012

If you are a regular visitor you'll know how much love we have for Mikhael Ayoub (D1 / Request). Such wonderful energy and always gives so much on a shoot, which you can see in Cecilie Harris' recent editorial with him "The 4th Floor - Chapter 4".

During the day of the shoot, we captured this interview with him. Luke Worrall also gets involved, so make sure to check it out.

Micky: Am I cooking and interviewing at the same time?
BBG: Yes, why not. We bet you're good at mulit-tasking.

You told us that you were into poetry, what got you into that?
Music. I think the first time I heard the Libertines and read the lyrics for "Time For Heros".

What other music do you listen to?
Since I've been in London Dubstep has grown on me.

Tell us a random Micky fact.

Micky: How random?
BBG: As random as you wish.

I'm really scared of dogs. They are probably my biggest fear.

What are your main inspirations in life?
Oscar Wilde. Period. Everything he wrote. Especially "The Sphinx Without A Secret". Read that.

If you have one piece of advise you could give the world what would it be?
Listen to your parents. They know what they're talking about.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
Can I be arrogant? Or maybe hopeful I guess is a better word? I want to be travelling the world and play music.

So you want to be a musician?
Oh yeah! I don't think you can become a musician though. I think you either are or you aren't.

What places would you like to live?
I'm from Brasil which is a great place, and I also love New York and London. Ever since I read "The Sun Also Rises" by Ernest Hemingway I've always wanted to live in Spain or Paris. I wanna go there and check it out. I went in this little alley the other day with only porn shops in Soho, it was pretty interesting.

What do you do in your sparetime?
I play the guitar. I was in a band, and would love to be in a band. I play the acoustic guitar at the moment, so you'd have to imagine it as part of a full band.

BBG: Luke, do you play guitar as well?
Yeah, but not as good as him I'm sure!

Luke takes over the interview......(we don't mind)

Luke: Who's your favourite american president?

Micky: Bill Clinton. He raised the economy 6%, and the only person in years to not be in any dept AND he got laid with the secretary. You know what I'm saying. He was doing alright.

Thanks Micky, you're a superstar!
