The Strypes For Issue 9

10 December 2015

We had a little picnic in the park today, do you guys do this often?
Peter: I picnicked once in this place in Ireland called Phoenix Park Zoo, I think I was about nine.
Josh: I picnic, I’ve been banging them out a lot recently. I live right by a park.
Peter: Also, we picnic heavily every day in the sense that we go to restaurants and have food. Like an indoor picnic.

A charming Irish accent with that dash of sarcasm and self-inflicted humour - you'll get a decent dose of that when spending time with four-piece Irish rock band The Strypes. The band consists of Ross Farrelly, Josh McClorey, Peter O'Hanlon and Evan Walsh, and can be seen in a Music Diaries feature in Issue 9 "Growing Sideways". True to their roots and as laid back as you would have hoped, the boys bring their laid back and harmonious approach to their music, and everything inbetween. They are blunt, honest and straight forward in their lyrics - an uncomprimised version of straightforward.

We met The Strypes on an early autumn warm day, endulging in cute little cupcakes and pink fizzy drinks during a picnic in the park. Photographer Cecilie Harris captures the day, their comradarie and their boyish charm. With fashion by BBG Fashion Editor David Nolan, you are invited to join the picnic for a little while. To delve deeper into the world of The Strypes, and collide with their harmonious notes, you can pick up a copy of Issue 9 in shops now or online notes to see their full story.
