Issue 19 is titled "To Be Human," as we look to emphasise the human touch — empathy, emotion, connection. Social media has become a space of heavy curation and performance. In a time of increased connectivity, many of us feel more disconnected than ever. This tension, between the unfiltered past and the hyper-curated present, sits quietly underneath each story in this edition. We seek to capture what feels real, what is real.
We shot this story, looking at the blooming wallpaper, sunset-coloured velvet, soft leather, and warm wool, and found comfort in connection. We softened to our surroundings — backs lying across the carpet, hands soothed in smooth gloves, cheeks against the satiny curtain, knitted fleece, and delicate lace. Silk tied necks and tenderly placed layers. Eyes that don't see the lens watching. A story that feels like home. This is "Soft To The Touch."
