After being on our "must shoot" list for the last two years, we were so pleased to feature Jacob Morton in our fifth issue, "Lessons".
Remember that boy in school who all girls wanted and all boys wanted to be? That's Jacob. A typical New York kid, he has the perfect Boys by Girls vibe about him. With such a youthful strength and effortless, sexy confidence, we're totally digging everything about Jacob.
Pairing him with our very talented photographer Ira Chernova, was a stroke of genius, as the two created photographs of magic. Throughout the series, Ira was determined to keep it real by capturing Jacob simply as a boy hanging out in his home town, NYC. This shoot is so New York, it really is. As he sits sipping on his coffee, with the skyline reflected onto his stunning face, Jacob looks cool and relaxed. The series has a distinctive style, but is versatile all the same, as Ira not only captures the model downtown but also explores the nature of the city - linking back to one of the main themes of the issue. The calmness of Jacob's personality flows through the imagery and draws you in. In her trademark mixture of digital and polaroid, Ira and Jacob gave us everything we hoped for and more.
Styled by the wonderful Carlton Jones, Jacob (one of the latest Topman campaign boys just to throw that in here) wears brands such as G-Star, The Blonds and Skingraft - combined with his slick hair and super cool piercings, Jacob has a sophisticated, cool yet laid-back style. Graphic tanks combined with classic shirts give Jacob a timeless style perfect for that city vibe - unique, casual, and effortless all at the same time. Not to mention the super cool knitted pants by Skingraft, which add a quirky twist to Jacob's look.
This is one of two stories in issue 5 set in New York. To see more stunning imagery of the fabulous city and Jacob in the 8-page feature, you can purchase "Lessons" here. A must-have for your magazine collection.
