People look different at home. In this story, we capture boys in their own spaces. Half-read books stack on red wool-covered floors, magnets and memories cover the refrigerator as it hums a welcome tune. Shoulders drop at home. The guard is lifted.
For our anniversary issue, we knew we wanted our stories to strongly reflect our lens - the documentary style approach that makes us Boys by Girls. Given our print theme, "Roots," we decided to shoot a story in models' homes. Rebecka captures relaxation between door frames, leisure, play. Key to Boys by Girls is to be a "fly-on-the-wall", capturing moments that happen naturally rather than creating moments.
Whether playing video games, tennis, or lifting weights, there is a sense of stillness and peace that only exists in a place that you know and knows you fully.
