Issue 7 Out Now!

17 November 2014

To preoccupy, to infatuate, to obsess. Issue 7 celebrates obsessions and explores the things people are so often vigilant not to admit. We reveal the obsessions of, and explore the contemporary young man even further; personified in models, musicians, artists, illustrators and poets. Lucky for you, issues are now available in shops.

We say that just to give you the small print. The issue is stocked in UK shops, and additionally across all the seas. You can also avoid the run to shops by purchasing our gorgeous heavy, uncoated mass of paper online here.

Staying true to us, each feature works as a new chapter, mapping the overall story of the issue’s theme; Obsessions. We delve deeper into adolescence and boys of the 21st century; displaying the finest compilation of talented boys and handsome young men, telling their stories in both words and images. We feature over 50 boys + 1 girl + 59 obsessions + 14 amazing photographers, some of whom capture the boys in homely, intimate environments, even including a boys in pyjamas series which is definitely one not to be missed. We also feature 8 of our favourite sounds at the moment, including Olly Murs. At Boys by Girls we pride ourselves on going that little bit further; beneath the ethereal clothes and beautiful faces we find little pieces of truths, creating the finessed beauty in our detailed issues.

French boy and music devotee, Elliot Vulliod graces our fashion cover bringing big eyes and even bigger eyebrows to our new issue. Photographed by Editor-in-Chief Cecille Harris, and styled by contributing editor Way Perry, Elliot shows us exactly why he is now in the line up for the top 50 male models. You will be drawn into 12 pages, which tell the story of this intimidatingly cool boy, as we see an appealingly different and somewhat offbeat version of him.

Stripped back from his trilby hat, Cecilie Harris captures an intimate side of renowned Essex boy Olly Murs in an honest set of monochromatic images, styled by Way Perry. As if we weren’t lucky enough, we also got him talking music, football and peanut butter sandwiches, making up an impressive account of not-seen-before Olly; his obsessions, what makes him tick and much much more.

So join us in our latest chapter, and make Boys By Girls your very own Obsession (it's a great obsession to have, we promise).
