New british actor talent, Joe Alwyn, is still a London boy at heart. This is where his home is. The busy city, amongst the old smoke, is where you will find him. It's a far cry from the American soil where he more recently laid his feet. After a steep start to his acting career, starring in impressive roles in feature films 'Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk' and 'A Sense of an Ending', Joe Alwyn has now been put on the map. For our new Spring Summer print issue 'Young Hearts', Cecilie Harris photographs Joe in a calm London hide-out - this is his own narrative.

Our time with Joe is calm and lovely. He is humble, and fully aware of how lucky he has been to get such a great start to his career. We enjoy the view from the roof of a lovely London hiding spot we found, and he shares his experiences on what it has been like to be thrown into the deep end and work with director Ang Lee. We drink tea and we eat grapes. Calm enters the room as Joe lets Cecilie's sad piano music playlist fill the space. His talent apparent, as he brings his own stillness within every shot.

Stylist Christopher Preston, brings colour and classic coolness. Joe rocks every garment we throw at him. Taking on a role is what he does, but for this moment he gets to be simply Joe. Every now and then, we find ourselves in moments that can be life changing, and Joe has just had a few of them recently shown in cinemas.

You can read the full interview with Joe and see all the pretty pictures, beyond this teaser feature, in the pages of Boys By Girls Issue 12 'Young Hearts', available in selected stores and online now.
