There’s been a chill lurking on your shoulder since the early months of winter. Four months on and that familiar cold nip is still clinging to you, begging to be held onto a little longer. You’re shaking off the last of the winter colds. Dry skin and broken lips are reverting to rosy and plump, and with the quickest glimpse of yellow from behind fluffy, white clouds - you know the temperature is beginning to rise. That means it’s time to get that peak at the sun. It’s time to get your glasses.

You find yourself surrounded by the city, the newly felt gust of air running through the streets and catching you on the tube. As you emerge, the sun collides with you and you find yourself wishing for the perfect pair of sunglasses to swap places with your glasses for a little whilst you let the sunrays dance across your face. The perfect frame, the perfect tint of glass, the perfect bend at the ears. You’re not just searching for better vision – it’s about seeing things for what they truly are. You’ve searched, you know they’re out there, but on an expedition through Soho, Mayfair and all the likely hotspots there’s this dwindle of hope that perhaps they don’t exist.

Cecilie Harris captures model Archie Renaux at AMCK Models wearing Carrera Eyewear. Finally, that perfect pair of glasses that you’ve been longing for since that orange orb made its first appearance; Carrera Sunglasses ticks all the boxes. Beyond the general aviators made popular by Top Gun, these glasses transgress over a ‘need for speed’ – they need high speed, fast paced. From work to dinner to the club to bed, they are sunglasses made for events in quick succession all without a need to remove those frames from your features. Their glasses are the barrier between the grime of the city and a crisp, clear fantasy.

There’s a coolness in hiding behind dark tinted glasses. There’s clarity in seeing the beauty through a crystal clear lens. Carrera goes against the rose hue of spring, giving large frames and tortoise shell patterns their day in the sun. What with the influx of parties incoming, you’ll need the sunglasses to hide the bags you’ll be sporting when the late summer nights come calling and the glasses to get you through a mountain of work the morning after. Since Carrera Eyewear have both, what’s not to love?
