Lukas: Handstand Extraordinaire

29 October 2013

Lukas Katinas at Nevs Models is most certainly not just a pretty face. Despite the fact that he has only been modeling since last June, this Lithuanian beauty already has a rather impressive list of designers and magazines that he has been snapped up by. As well as this, we were rather lucky to witness his impressive acrobatic skills, and by this we mean he is a handstand pro.

We had a great time getting to know this Versace and Givency model as we chatted to him about his modeling career, Thailand and Notorious B.I.G. His surname also means ‘cat’ in Lithuanian which we thought was worth a mention.

Hello Lukas, how are you?
Hello, I’m good, how are you?

I’m good, a little bit cold, but tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Lukas, I’m from Lithuania and I’m 20-years-old. I have two brothers and I love sports.

Cool, what kind of sports do you play?
Basketball and boxing.

Polaroid by Cecilie Harris.

Can you tell us about your modeling journey so far?
I started modeling last June. My first job was with Rollacoaster Magazine. I also did Versace exclusive twice, Givenchy exclusive and Calvin Klein exclusive, and I’ve done editorials for Wonderland and GQ. And shows in New York, Milan, Paris, so it's been quite busy.

That’s all very impressive considering you’ve only been modeling since June.
Yeah, I loved Versace. It was amazing, the people were very friendly.

What’s the funnest shoot you’ve ever done?
The funnest shoot was for Attitude. I had to do handstands.

You can do a handstand?
Yes, I can. (He does a rather impressive handstand which you can see here).

We are super impressed! Where is the best place you’ve been for a shoot?
Thailand for Wonderland Magazine. It was for 10 days and we shot for about 2 or 3 days, so for the rest of the time we just had a holiday.

What do you do when you’re not modelling?
I just graduated from school. And now I want to join the military.

When you were younger what did you want to be?
I wanted to be a race car driver and I’d still like to do that.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Just being with the people you love; parents, brothers.

What kind of music do you listen to?
I like ACDC.

(We laugh) Really? ACDC are quite an old band.
I know right! Haha, I love old school classic rock. And also old school rap. Like Notorious B.I.G.

Finally do you have any life advice that you’d like to share with us?
Just do what you want. Nobody can stop you and tell you that you can’t.

Exactly what we think too. Thanks for the acrobatics show Lukas!
