Suburban Days For Issue 8

1 June 2015

A wall to lean on, a bus stop bench to sit on, a corner to smoke behind, blue skies and summer days in the park. Those are the Suburban Days. Roaming the streets of town, frolicking on the outskirts of the city. In our latest print issue "The Trouble With Boys" we give to you a story about a group of friends, full of mischief and tales, who congregate in different areas of their hometown.

Louie Johnson (Premier Models), Reece Harold (Premier Models) and Fabian Gray (Storm Models) take us through a journey of the youthful days, hanging around their suburban neighbourhoods discovering ways to pass the time. Those unplanned moments and laughs about more or less nothing are the memories you’ll never forget. It seemed that the only way to create entertainment was to get up to no good. Picking up that rock off the floor and scraping it against the graffiti walls of the park, sparking a flame from a lighter and watching the rubber melt, riding your bike until the chain fell from the frame. Watching each car go by, embracing the banter, until every few seconds you are laughing until you can’t breathe. Not a care in the world.

Editor-in-Chief Cecilie Harris captures this group of boys and their rebellious ways in a series of candid moments, full of carefree attitude. We identify an essence from the 80’sera with styling by Chris Benns. There is a vintage approach to the baggy graphic tee’s, denim jackets and flared pants paired with Converses, whilst a classic simplicity about the garments, bringing in the unique aspects of youth culture.
