Olly Murs For Issue 7

20 November 2014

A household name and a self proclaimed peanut butter enthusiast is Olly Murs. With four No.1 singles and three albums under his belt, everyone has heard of and knows of Olly, but we reckon you haven’t seen him like this before. Photographer Cecilie Harris honestly interviews and documents Olly in this intimate 8 page feature.

Keeping to the theme of Issue 7, Obsessions, Olly is very quick to let us in to a few of his;

“My job, my career. I’m obsessed with ladies. My friends, my family. A lot of things from a lad’s point of view; I’m obsessed with football and I love Manchester united. I love my PS4; I play computer games a lot. My dad’s triple-decker peanut butter sandwich is legendary in the Murs household.”

His energy is magnetic, his cheerfulness is infectious, but clearly there is a lot more to this boy that doesn’t seem to be documented very often. Monochromatic black and white falls over the images in an almost sombre way as Cecilie Harris creates this unrecognisable version of Olly. The epitome of cool, he looks at home on the pitch, ball in hand, and as he’s sat in the football changing room he lets us into another intimate detail of his childhood;

“Every Sunday night I would listen to the top 40 on the radio with my family…I’ve always loved music. In fact I used to sing in football changing rooms!”

Stylist Way Perry plays on Olly’s obsession with with an effortlessly cool edge to the styling with Issey Miyake, John Smedley and Y3 combining a look that is fresh yet relatable to the dapper Olly we all know and love.

See this feature come to life on paper. Pick at Olly Murs’ mind with us. Become involved in what makes him tick, his opinion on his own music, his own obsessions. Get your hands on Issue 7 and see the full beauty of this special feature/interview combination.
