New Face: Joe At Models 1

15 October 2014

This week we throw the spotlight on another alluring fresh boy with a series by the very talented Sophie Mayanne. She captures angelic, yet strong portraits of half English, half American Models 1 boy Joe Stevens.

Joe’s, to friends Jojo, quiet, laid back personality seems to fit wonderfully with his interest in not only creative writing, but lyrics and music too. Despite this, his playful side comes across as he informs us his childhood hero is Finn the Human, (Adventure time). A few of his favourite things are Wonderland, Vice and walking for Moschino, which he describes as weird, but really cool. Joe is obsessed with shopping and clothes and goes back to his roots and visits America most years.

Stylist Dasha Kova dresses Joe in a mixture of somewhat smart, classic clothing but mixes statement items such as Ben Sherman striped suit trousers with a relaxed, almost grungy, look of a simple white t-shirt, by Matthew Miller, and bare feet. This laid-back yet classic approach to Joe’s styling keeps us in touch with the youthfullness of being 17 years old. Joe looks beautifully striking in Sophie Mayanne’s gorgeous monochrome images, which undeniably show he has only good things to come.
