Video Diary Wrap Up AW17

6 March 2019
For the AW17 instalment of our Video Diaries series at London Fashion Week Men’s, we invited our old friend Fenn O’Meally to get the low-down on the backstage action. Only this time there was a little twist in the plot; we asked you to tell us what you really wanted to know about fashion. Teaming up with Premier Models, we captured moments from the depths of the four-day extravaganza. Amidst a sea of free popcorn, rose flavoured water and a ton of hairspray - this season left us with with a new optimism for this coming Autumn/Winter.
Like Paris’ naughty younger brother, London takes tradition and distorts it into a whirlwind of craft and cheekiness. Fenn spoke to an ocean of pretty faces; some familiar and some new friends, who were eager to share their wisdom with you. Rubbing shoulders with the likes of James Bay, Dougie Poynter, Darren Kennedy and Zak Abel, as well as a bucket-load of models - Fenn set out on her fashion week mission.
To start off the series, Fenn posed the question: what will 2017 bring? At times last year, this unpredictable sphere we call home felt a little apocalyptic. This question certainly filtered out the optimists of the group, as presenter Darren Kennedy hopes for world peace - it’s not much to ask. We also got the low down from Dougie Poynter and James Bay about what they're up to.
With a personal motto of “skies out, thys out”, Nick Rupp at Premier solidified the new age of masculinity on day two when we asked, what about the man skirt? While the other chaps weren’t too keen on the idea, a skirt-polyester tight combo seemed to open a new window of possibilities. More controversial fashion choices were uncovered on day three, when musician Zak Abel admitted to his love of capes; well, he wanted to be batman as a child. To coincide with the end of the season, Fenn found out how to host a great party - secrets shared in our day four video. From a George Michael soundtrack, to tips on guest-selection - we gained insider tips on those most famed for their partying habits; models and musicians.
