LFW: Matthew Miller AW12

2 March 2012

In his first solo show Matthew Miller impresses with his autumn winter collection "Expedition", taking inspiration from every day surfaces and textures. Walking in backstage was like walking into a family reunion, as hordes of familiar, handsome Elite Models boys greeted us. As this was our last show during London Fashion Week, we felt a sense of calm during the preparations for the show, being surrounded by boys we knew and the friendly team at Matthew Miller.

In Miller's AW12 collection we saw "expedition" elements in compasses integrated into garments, detachable backpacks, waterproof jackets and safari inspired elements, all hinting at a sense of survival on the streets of London.

All in all our London Fashion Week experience was immense, and we feel inspired by all the wonderful collections we saw! We are excited to start capturing some of AW12's wonderful pieces, and bring you our usual goodness.

In collaboration with Elite Model Management London, we caught up with some of the boys. Check out extracts from Felix's interview below.

Felix, what’s your Fashion Week experience so far?
Running around, being constantly tired and sweaty! I haven’t really been getting enough of nutritious food at shows; it seems to me like the standard diet backstage mainly consists of Haribo’s and crisps!

Describe what it feels like to be on a catwalk?
It is almost like entering a void – nothing else matters. You don’t think about anything, you’re like a ‘husk’ of your former self!!! And then it’s all done in like 30 seconds, and you’re left wondering “oh well, that’s over!
