LFW: James Long AW12

1 March 2012

As it was very much anticipated, James Long has produced yet another knockout menswear collection for the forthcoming AW12 season.

Masculine aviator jackets, heavy fabrics and quilted black leathers were softened with delicate gold embellishments and romantic knits, apposite for a hedonistic yet practical lifestyle.

The colour palettes were full of muted earthy tones, whereas hints of glossy ventures revived the subdued undertones. The rugged and distressed knits were perfectly layered with shearling panels and chunky scarves, ideal for the chilly conditions this coming autumn.

In collaboration with Elite Model Management London, we caught up with some of the boys. Check out extracts from Tom's interview below.

What keeps you going during a hectic show season?
I suppose apart from the money - it would be all the socialising that happens backstage and all the cool people you meet… Umm.. did I mention the parties???

Describe what it is like to be on a catwalk?
This is my second season and I have to say the first time is undeniably the best time - the adrenaline rush you get from being on the catwalk is just out of this world! After a while that same feeling sinks in a bit, but it’s still good. Just before you go out and the music’s pumping and you walk to that sick beat… You feel pretty cool… For example, I walked for Joseph Abboud show at NY Fashion Week and for the finale me and three other guys had to walk all together in line to an awesome tune wearing these sharp suits and tuxedos… I felt SO cool, like, YEAH I’m the man!!!
