LCM: Palmer Harding SS15

16 June 2014

It’s always nice to see a familiar face in the midst of LCM madness and that’s exactly what we got when we emerged onto the second floor of The Hospital Club in Covent Garden. The whole team from the video and lookbook shoot were there to celebrate, from the Palmer//Harding boys, Levi and Matthew, to the makeup artist and interns to the photographer and our Editor-In-Chief Cecilie Harris.

It was a relaxed vibe at the Palmer//Harding SS15 preview as spectators immersed themselves in the cushy beanbags and cinema seating, ready to enjoy the very special video created by Cecilie Harris. The video starred Oliver at Premier Models and talented Olympic athlete Sam Oldham. Sam and Oliver are very different boys, with very different lives. This perfect balance, this yin and yang, of strength and vulnerability, was captured in the short film and was a theme that was continued within the collection. Sam and Oliver's contrasting personalities were captured in the collection that was an exquisite blend of functional and desirable.

Details of the collection included crisp metallic collars, torn textures and beautifully flowing silhouettes. The palette comprimised of rich summer blues, turquoises, metallic oranges, purples and fawn, all mixed in print to create a stunning spring summer collection. The design duo defiantly pushed themselves this season creating a more forward thinking and modern aesthetic. A favourite of the collection was the tan leather baseball caps with delicate fabric ties at the reverse that seemed the embodiment of Sam and Oliver's oppositional forces.
