LCM: Nicole Farhi AW14

10 January 2014

At London Collections: Men you can expect two things for sure - gorgeous, Savile Row inspired tailoring and wacky out-there prints and colours. But what is also very much respected is the designers who have a strong focus on wearability while their designs still remain as contemporary and high quality as all the rest. We first saw this at Margaret Howell with her loose shirts and skinny ties, and now at Nicole Farhi AW14.

Farhi held her AW14 presentation in a gorgeous triangular space filled with square wooden pillars mirroring the brown tones of the laid-back collection. Printed, loose-fit knitwear was paired with clean cut tailored trousers, creating the perfect combination of formal and casual. The line-up for the show included Elite London's Bastian and Pascal, as well as the gorgeous Rutger at Supa Model Management.

Another designer once said, "Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life so you bought some sweatpants." Nicole Farhi has challenged this statement in a brilliant way with the cool and classy sweatpants included in her collection, and we're sure that guys will be all over the smart casual looks - who wouldn't want to turn up to the office in a pair of sweatpants and get away with it?
