LCM: Lou Dalton AW15

6 March 2019

Timeless, refreshing, poetic. These are just a few words being thrown around to describe Lou Dalton's innovative take on traditional British Tailoring. Having been in the business since 1998, Dalton knows a thing or two about how to refresh tailoring season after season, bringing us never seen before details, a variety of textures and subtle prints.

Black-on-black was the main focus for AW15. The intentionally specific concept allowed Dalton to dig slightly deeper into the subtlety of menswear design, finding new paths and details to explore in depth. Be it black-on-black tartan, zips, Velcro circles; space suits, webbed tape and tone-on-tone textures. Details such as these are the reason why designers like Lou Dalton are so successful; the quality is immaculate.

This is definitely a "something for everyone" kind of collection. If you aren't a fan of the black, maybe the dirty pink sweatshirts and wool trousers are for you, or the teal jumper or printed tee. Either way, Dalton is becoming a pro at creating something sophisticated out of something so simplistic.

As usual, Lou Dalton kept her casting stripped back with a "young contemporary British male" kind of look. Dalton likes to keep her shows nice and simplistic, focusing on what matters most; the clothes.
