Joey Rogers For Issue 6

19 May 2014

Fancy jacket potatoes for breakfast? What about lunch and dinner? No? Joey Rogers at Supa Model Management does, and tells us he is quite obsessed with them, enjoying countless a day - just incase there is another famine around the corner.

For the latest Boys by Girls issue "The Truth About Boys" Cecilie Harris photographed Joey at his London home in a mix of digital and instant analogue, where she discovered not only that his claimed potato obsession was true, but also what a truly cool and quirky guy he is. Styled in the latest and greatest, David Nolan's approach was a classic, old British style, yet managing to make it look incredibly current. The classic tailoring with the added timeless elements including pieces by Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith, and Topman to name a few, which was a perfect match to Joey's old soul.

Not only is he a male model extradinaire, Joey is a filmmaker with three short films under his belt, including documentary, drama and a very entertaining stop by stop animation. We're sure there is another chapter in there somewhere.

We first met Joey when we shot him for our Faces of Summer 2013 feature, where he was the life and soul of the party. Infected by his energy and wanting to get to know his story, he was a must-have for our latest print issue.

In the editorial Cecilie presents a beautiful set of photographs in an infusion of monochrome and soft colours, mixing an analogue approach with digital to further enhance the current side of this boy as well as his old soul elements. Styling Joey in shades of white in several outfits, David Nolan also shows his softer and more serene side, representing the innocence still within. Our visit at Joey's was like a treasure hunt, where every time we moved around there was something new (or old) to discover that we wanted to know more about, bringing even more bits of Joey's story to the surface.

The interview included in the feature as well as the images are only hints of who Joey is and definitely a reason why you want to pick up issue 6 to see the full story of "Cigarettes and Potatoes".
