Faces Of Summer 2012: Alfie

17 August 2012

Whilst shooting the super special Boys by Girls editorial, "12 Faces of Summer", we took the opportunity to get to know our favourite faces a little better, so sat down with each of them for an interview. We also took pretty pictures of the boys individually. Today it's the turn of Alfie Green at Select, who likes music and books, but not a certain step in Hackney.

We have ten more model interviews and portraits coming up with our Faces of Summer, so join us on Facebook or Twitter to keep updated.

Name Alfie Green
Age: I'm 16
Location: London

How long have you been modelling?
About 8 months. I was scouted in October I think, by Andrew at Select Models.

What have you done so far modelling wise?
I haven’t had that much time to do castings cos I’ve been at school, but I’ve done a bit. I did a magazine called Bobby Dazzler, that still is yet to come out.

What’s your dream modelling job?
Something in New York, definitely. I think I’m gonna be boring and say smart wear, New York.

What are you passionate about?
Music, writing, I like books, reading, writing, any sort of stuff like that. Yeah, basically most of the arts except… art.

3 random facts about yourself?
I lost half my body weight when I had appendicitis, two years ago.
I can play guitar.
And, my favourite holiday destination is Tuscany, in Italy.

So have you been there a lot?
Yeah, twice, to the same place.

If you could be any fictional character, who would you want to be?
Probably the Joker from Batman, just to get inside his mind to see why he does it.

What are you reading at the moment?
Cloud Atlas by… ah, it’s the same name…

Something Mitchell?
Yeah, David Mitchell.

What’s your favourite book?
My favourite book is 1984 by George Orwell, because it’s got a really good plot, but at the same time it makes you think.

Who’s style do you admire?
Who’s style do I admire… [long think]… I quite like Leonardo DiCaprio’s style, he’s pretty good.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up where I live now, in East London, kind of in Hackney, and then I moved to Tower Hamlets.

What was it like?
From what I can remember it was quite fun. Except there was one step, that my clearest memory is completely smacking my head open on. So I didn’t like that step in Hackney, but the rest of Hackney was alright.
