Escaping Inside

13 May 2015

‘If you are taking pictures you can create the world you want to be in'

To escape, to hide from the monotony of the ticking clock. To slip into a surreal world that is created to your very whims. To breathe fresh air, and inhale the imagination of another world. To escape, simply just to be.

Edoaurd (Rock Men) is simply a dreamer. A dreamer who can charismatically entrance with his thoughts, slide fluidly through monochromatic frames and share stories of the world he wishes to be in. Photographed by BBG Digital Editor Sophie Mayanne in his Paris home, Edoaurd's ambient energy quickly comes to life in this series styled by Dasha Kova. Key pieces from Fred Perry, Robert Clergerie and Diesel are infused with Edoaurd's common sensibility, creating a look that is close to comfort, and home.

Dreaming and daydreaming is a luxury available to each of us, but something we quite often discard, forgetting it's magical qualities. We quickly forget the moments when we were young, and could stare into space for periods of time, creating adventure upon adventure. We simply forget the magic imagination can capture, and that the four lines of a frame create a number of hidden stories. Edoaurd's trails of thought remind us that this is something we can recapture and learn to live by again.
