Conor Doherty For “Lessons”

14 November 2013

When thinking back on our childhood, there are some “Lessons” that stand out more than most, and whether we like it or not most of them were taught by our lovely parents, probably while tearing their hair out. Photographer Cecilie Harris brings us “What My Parents Taught Me” which centers around the very beautiful, if not rather cheeky Conor Doherty at Elite Models London.

Cecilie first met Conor after he won Elite’s Model Look Competition last summer at the age of 16. Since then Conor has been thrown into this crazed modeling world and taken it by storm. Last season he walked for Burberry, John Galliano, Kenzo, Topman and Valentino amonst others, and he also managed to notch up some pretty swanky editorials. But in his down time Conor is just like any other teenage boy; he likes to skate with his friends and has a little bit of a rebellious streak. Just a tiny one.

Cecilie Harris shoots Connor in a trademark Boys by Girls shoot, capturing him relaxed, cool and collected in his London family home, finding that a year on he knows exactly how to work his look and accentuate his features (those razor sharp cheek bones of his). The relaxed yet tailored styling by Rachel Davis at OneRepresents and stunning hair by John Mullan highlight Conor’s effortlessly cool character; how could one possibly go wrong with him sitting on the stairs in head-to-toe Paul Smith with those cheek bones? Conor is extremely creative with his modeling, and if there is something he can find to climb, he’ll climb it. (Keep a look out for Conor the Gargoyle).

The story is aptly named “What My Parents Taught Me”, mainly because one can imagine Conor doing the opposite of what his parents tell him to do. He tries to be a good boy, but sometimes he’s just not. In a good way though, as his is incredibly charming and switched on. We love his mischievous side and Cecilie wanted to capture both the calm and the cheekiness inside him. He is definitely the bad boy in all the right ways.
