Boys by Girls Meets Superdry

14 November 2012

Ever since shooting our "12 Faces of Summer" feature we've been in love with Superdry, so we were super excited when we received the invite to Superdry’s Press Day and Launch of their Spring/Summer 2013 Collection. What a morning the Boys by Girls team had in the showroom of the Superdry Regent Street store. We already have so much love for the Superdry team after one of our favourite faces Jed Texas (Elite Models London) modelled for the brand. Not only did we get to see the brand’s new Spring/Summer ’13 collections up close and personal, but we were greeted by the charming press team and treated to manicures.

A personal tour of the collection came next and we were immediately struck by how cool and colourful the menswear was, with the classic Superdry logo print tees available in every possible colour a boy could want. There were still all of the timeless Superdry styles that we know and love, but with new edge and influences. We especially liked the massive range of coloured chinos, the brand new nautical themed garments and their vast collection of accessories.

Tailored jackets in the Timothy Everest collaboration with the brand had injections of neon brights, as under collar details, alongside traditional tweed and felted fabrics; a youthful take on classic British Men’s tailoring. Remember our recent editorial "Suit up" featuring Sam Harwood and Roman Kemp (Models 1) looking very dapper? Yes indeed, they are those very same jackets!

We also loved the collection of men’s watches, the first selection of Superdry watches to be launched in the UK. With their military inspired details and chunky, masculine styles, they really were the ultimate wearable accessories for any guy. Needless to say we are excited to feature some of our favourite pieces from the new collections in upcoming Boys by Girls shoots.

Another happy surprise was our parting gift of beautiful goody bags; complete with a delicious new neon fragrance, products from their upcoming Superdry make up range and a lovely look book for us to fawn over.

On top of this the BBG team was very pleased to discover that one of our new faces Harry (Next Model Management) was quickly picked up by the brand for the campaign for the launch of their Autumn/Winter 2012 range. Make sure you look out for the exclusive portraits of Harry, shot by photographer Cecilie Harris, appearing on the Boys by Girls website very soon! Meanwhile be excited that Superdry boy Jed Texas will be featured in our soon to be released 4th Issue “A Place Called Youth”.

Mmmmm... Superdry tees. Yes please!

A colour oasis of Superdry. We adore.

Of course we had to put in a cute boy just for you!

The Boys by Girls team hard at work as always.
