George Tarrant’s McLellan Story

Recently shot by Alasdair McLellan for Man About Town, we checked in with George Tarrant (Nevs) to get some goss on what it was like to shoot with this awesome photographer.

Alasdair McLellan has worked with some pretty huge names and not just in the world of fashion. What were you looking forward to most about shooting with him?
Listening to stories about the famous people he had shot recently (including David Beckham!), and getting some AMAZING images from the shoot! To be honest I was looking forward to everything, and was honoured that he chose to work with me!

How was working with Alasdair different from other photographers who you have worked with?
Alasdair was very efficient – he took so many photo’s in a short space of time. I was only there an hour or so, and we shot a number of different looks in that time.

The results are stunning! What Alasdair was trying to achieve during the shoot?
Aww thank you! It was a ‘Back to space’ edition hence the reason I’m holding star wars characters. It was inspired by him.

How did Alasdair inspire you and get you into the creative spirit during the shoot?
Alasdair emphasised a natural look throughout the shoot, so as soon as I tensed my muscles for the photos he told me to ‘relax George’. As always I felt comfortable in front of the camera.

How do you feel when you see the final images after a shoot?
It’s a great feeling and I’m often really patient to see images from shoots, but I literally couldn’t wait to see the images he had taken of me. Whether this was because he has photographed the biggest names in the industry or the fact that it was such a sick theme, I don’t know.
