Tom Barker For “Lessons”

11 November 2013

When you grow up living in a beautiful environment next to the wide open sea like Tom Barker at Supa Models has, you can expect to see Cecilie Harris with a camera in hand ready to photograph you in the place you get to call home. The two were accompanied by talented stylist Way Perry, who brought beautiful designer clothes to dress Tom in, as Tom was photographed by Cecilie giving us a personal look into his hometown. The calm environment of the coast gives an interesting mix with Tom's strong bone structure, whilst wearing edgy clothes with vibrant colours.

This is one of the two shoots styled by Way Perry out our fifth issue, and we are super pleased to have him onboard as a contributing Editor for Boys by Girls Magazine. He brings all Autumn/Winter 13 collections that have a delightful mix of youth and sophistication. Way focused on bringing in a variety of colour and patterns to Tom's Wardrobe, creating a vibrant shoot that allowed Tom to be playful and creative. The intriguing clothing flow together beautifully, with full looks from Hardy Amies, Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith and Topman Design, amongst others.

The editorial is titled "How to be a Good Boy", and focuses on the time in your life when you're still learning what is right and wrong. During adolescent teen play on the fence with what they can get away with. Tom gives some helpful pointers from what those moments have taught him.

"If your teacher is sad, make them feel better." (Tom Barker)

Tom took Cecilie and Way around his house, including bits of his favorite spots that were close by. The best bits were the local sea side shops, the local Fish and Chips shop, the beach and the sea. Icecream and Fish & Chips were found and enjoyed.

"I once stopped an argument between two girls when I was five, I said "let's all be friends" and then they were friends. That was a good deed."

Be sure to pick up the issue "Lessons" and satisfy all your Boys by Girls cravings.
